Colds and flu

Question

Q.

Can a virus be transmitted into paint?

I plan on trying to get pregnant after the pandemic declines. I was going to try in May, but it might be later. Anyways, is it safe for me to get paint mixed at a paint store and than use that paint? I doubt the people at Sherwin-Williams will be wearing masks while the lid is open and the colors go in. I'm also High-Risk with Asthma along with allergies (drugs, food, & normal triggers-mold, latex...). Is it worth the risk? Could I get infected with Coronavirus from paint?

Hi there

I assume that you are not in South-Africa? Because as far as I know we cannot buy paint, as it is not on the 'essentials' list at the moment.
Even so, if you are in a country where the lock-down is less strict, then by all means buy some paint, but just protect yourself as I am sure there are certain protective measures in place in your part of the world. If this is not absolutely essential, I would not risk it at the moment. Good luck and stay safe!
