On World Sight Day these stories will make you appreciate your sense of sight.

People often describe the sense of sight as one of our most precious gifts.

Although blind or visually challenged people find unique ways to cope in a world geared towards people who can see, it's heartwarming to watch somebody see for the first time. 

Blindness can be the result of serious untreated eye problems, but according to the South African National Council for the Blind, 80% of blindness is avoidable, which is why early diagnosis and treatment are so essential in the case of eye diseases.

The internet is full of videos of people from all walks of life seeing for the first time. We have put seven cases seven cases.
