What can you use if you are sweating too much?

Dear Cyril

Excessive sweating(hyperhidrosis) is a difficult problem to treat. One first needs to know if there are any treatable causes like an overactive thyroid, other hormonal causes or medications etc. If there are no secondary causes and it is localized to under the arms, then antiperspirants can be tried. If this doesn’t work then surgery is an option, but may not always work, and can cause increased sweating elsewhere. Generalized sweating with no treatable cause is very difficult to treat and is best to get an assessment form your doctor to rule out secondary causes.
