Q.

Purchasing insulin/injectables in SA pharmacies?

I will be visiting SA for an extended period, and so will need to get insulin or an injectable from a pharmacy. Can I bring my prescription with me? I am not sure of the brands used and if available, and pricing. Where can I get this information?

Hi

To purchase insulin in this country, you will need a local script, as a script from another country won't be valid. You will likely get an emergency supply if needed, as no one is likely to deny a diabetic insulin, but for longer term supplies, you will need a script. Most brands are available here, so that shouldn't be an issue
