I was diagnosed with Hypoglycemia and sent to a dietician to get my diet sorted out. Things were going great on this eating plan and then I got pregnant and everything flew out the door (wonderful things those cravings). That was two years ago and, although I haven't been back to the dietician, I have tried very hard to watch what I eat and to exercise as often as possible - very easy when you have a two year old little boy keeping you active!

But lately I have been feeling run down and tired. I have not changed anything in my diet or excersice plan, but have noticed that I get the 'munchies' alot and have picked up a lot of weight very quickly. I have also been experiencing alot of headaches and nausea.

Should I go and get my blood sugar levels checked again - could these be early warning signs of diabetes?

Talon, it might be worthwhile to have your blood sugar rechecked. Low blood sugars following a meal may be an early sign of type 2 diabetes. Start with a fasting blood sugar level. If this is absolutely normal, I suggest you focus on your diet again - preferable have more frequent, smaller meals. High fibre and limited fine sugars will help.
