Diabetes menu

Good afternoon

The diabetes menu u say is for people of normal weight, what is normal and how do one know. I am 1.53m and weight between 70-74 kg. I am aware that Iam overweight, and am following a eating plan.

My concern is can I use the diabetes eating plan as is or do i need to eat less, also how many kiloujoules should I consume per day.

Please help as I have a very high glucose level. I tested myself yesterday and it was 11.2, so yes I am seeing a doctor next week as this is a great concern to me.

Please all the help that you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much

Normal weight is mostly when the body mas index is less than 25. Your body mass index is 29.9-31.6 - thus overweight to obese. Overweight is whne the body mass index is > 25 but less than 30. if the body mass index is 30 or more it is obese. If you want to loose weight yout energy intake should be less than your output. The intake of kilojoules is not the only determining factor, as the activity level will also play a role. It may be beneficial to discuss your eating plan wioth a dietician. It is very good that you are consulting your doctor as your glucose is not controlled.
