My GP said I am pre-diabetic. He prescribed Glocopahge 500mg &  Diaglucide 30mg.
I then went back after fasting for 12 hours &  my levels read 5.4. He said it looks good but I have to stay on the two tablets.
I thought if the reading was under 8, he would take me off but he also said I should take another tablet for Cholesterol as this would be best.
I am a bit confused about all this and don''t want to be on tablets.
Are there any natural remedies that one could take, herbs?
Thanks for the advice.

Dear DlB
I am confused as well, for if you are pre-diabetic you shouldn’t be on diaglucide, as this could cause the glucose readings to go too low and isn’t indicated in pre-diabetes. The Glucophage is sometimes used, as this has been shown to delay progession to diabetes. I suggest clarifying with your doctor whether you have diabetes or pre-diabetes . If you have pre-diabetes, then the plan is to try and lose some weight and increase your exercise. There are no natural remedies that have been shown to prevent diabetes.

Rather drink the meds as then you know what the right dosage must be.
