Q.

chances child being born with diabetes

Hi there, My husband is 34 and has been a diabetic for the last 10 years,type 1, I would like to find out what the chances of our children being born with diabetes?as I want childres very badly and he does not want to take chances. I am perfectly healthy!!

It is not possible to predict accurately, as incidences vary per country, but an estimate from international data is that if the father is a type 1 diabetic the chances may be 6% to have a child with type 1 diabetes compared to the general population's chance of 0.3-0.5%.
