High morning blood sugar levels

Why is my blood sugar so high in the morning when I get up? My blood sugar will be 100 or close to it when I go to bed.

Hi

Glucose in your blood comes from what you eat and your liver. Your morning blood glucose is mostly from your liver(if you haven't eaten for 8 hours). Your liver will make more glucose if your stress hormones are raised during the night(poor sleep, increased stress). Depending on what treatment you are on, you may need more medication at night to reduce the morning level
