Q.

Toujeo insulin

My doctor has changed my insulin from Lantus to Toujeo. Was taking 45 units Lantus, tried that with Toujeo and my sugar readings went through the ceiling. I have now increased Toujeo to 55 after consultation with my Dr. I am still struggling with high sugar readings especially in the morning. Does this mean the insulin does not agree with me and should I just continue increasing the Toujeo? Levels were much better with Lantus.

Hi

Toujeo is a more concentrated form of Lantus insulin, and tends to work better, often requiring a lower dose with time, although in the beginning there may be a change over phase. I would suggest checking the dosage with your doctor, and if all is correct, then increasing the dosage some more according to a sliding scale by your doctor
