Q.

How can I lower my fathers blood sugar levels?

My father is having high blood sugar. He checked today and he has 234 in fasting and without fasting its 222. Could you please suggest something that can help my father to get his sugar level down? since 2 days he is not feeling that well. He is feeling like dizziness and also suffering from leg pain and loose motion. Before he was having a bit leg pain but now its increasing. Please help as due to lockdown it's getting difficult to fix an appointment which is nearer. Thanks!

Hi

Options to lower glucose levels are 1) medication 2) dietary changes, and this can include lowering the carbohydrates in the short term to get glucose levels done 3) increasing water intake 4) exercise, which may be difficult during the lockdown. In view of the leg pain, he may need to see a doctor
