Massage not good !?

Hi and thanks for this online service. I have type-2 diabetes and sometimes it feels like I am walking on 'cushions' and now and then it hurt quite a bit in some of the toes. I thought of the sugar doing damage to the vessels and as they are numb the thought that comes to mind is to give the toes some massage to get the heat up. BUT - I have read that massage is not something a diabetic should have. How true is this - and the reason for it ? is it that the sugar is in the vessels and giving them massage helps to damage the vessels? Looking forward to your reply. Regards a Swede

The symptoms described sound like diabetes neuropathy as opposed to circulation issues. Massage for this wont hvae any major benefits. As a type 2 diabetic, you can have a foot massage, but you would need someone experienced with diabetes feet, as you don't want them to cause any injury or cuts
