Q.

Can too much fruit consumption cause diabetes?

My age is 30 and I am not a diabetic, My BMI is about 23 and I takr care of mt health. I love to eat fruits, dates, figs or any availablr. Is eating more fruits causes diabetes? Can I eat dates, figs and fruits in empty stomach in morning? Is that causes diabetes?

Hi

Risk factors for type 2 diabetes are being overweight, age > 45 years, a family history of diabetes, high blood pressure, raised cholesterol, previous diabetes in pregnancy or polycystic ovarian syndrome. If the fruit is causing you to become overweight, then that could increase your risk for diabetes, but if your weight is stable, then it isn't an issue
