Q.

In need of testing supplies

Diabetes runs in my family, my dad has it and my paternal and maternal grandmother. Recently after being concerned over a number of unusual systems, including frequent yeast infections, researching I discovered everyone of my symptoms were all related to diabetes. Today, my boyfriend got concerned when I sudddenly kept falling asleep ,and took me to see his aunt who has diabetic supplies, to check my sugar. The test read 182. Which I was told that was high. Now with the coronavirus going on, i would prefer to not go to a doctor office anytime soon, but with proper diet, and a monitoring device, I believe I could keep it under control for now, until it's safe to go to a doctor. Do you know how I could get a prescription for the testing supplies I need without going into the office.

Hi

You need a doctor's prescription to get diabetes medication, as there is no other way. If you are unable to be seen by a doctor, then you will be unable to test at present, as I wouldn't suggest sharing another patient's testing machine
