Q.

Difficulty breathing after eating cake

I am a DM2.  I ate the cake. passed almost 1 hour I developed difficulty breathing.  I thought I was having hyperglycemia.  I took a shot of my Lantus insulin 20 units.  Did I do the right thing? I did not eat at all for more than 12 hours. I can't go out to see a doctor because of lo lockdown. What should I do?

Hi

I don't think that the cake or high glucose levels caused the difficulty with breathing, and certainly a dose of slow acting insulin wouldn't have made much immediate difference to the glucose levels if they were high. I can't tell you what caused the difficulty breathing, but options include heart or lung problems and you will need likely need to see a doctor, particulalry if it happens again.
