Q.

Hba1c levels

My Hba1c is 5.5. On reports stnadard value is written that 5.7 to 6.4 is prediabetic. The thought that come to my mind is thay 5.5 is very close to 5.7. Do it mean that I am very close to be a prediabetic or it is very much perfect and normal and no precautions are required? (13 hour fasting value is 82mg/dl about 10days before hba1c test. And 78mg/dl after 2-2.5hour of breakfast on the same sample from which hba1c is tested in laboratory).

Hi

Your HbA1c is normal, and I wouldn't start making up  new criteria of being pre pre-diabetic, otherewise it creates a lot of anxiety which isn't required
