Q.

Is it nessasary to adjust cilifit dose after a while?

My son is 21, currently using 10mg 1 x a day, but is very down. Is it possible that the dose must be adjusted?

Hi Melisa,
Cilift is a trade name for the antidepressant Citalopram. 10 mg a day is a very low dose. The usual starting dose for an adult, such as your son, would be 20 mg a day and usually one would raise this to 40 mg a day after a week.
You should discuss this with the doctor writing the prescription ( ? a GP? ) as the prescription would need to be revised, and he should be involved in the decision and in supervising the treatment.
