Q.

Leg

How long can cancer cells stay in the body before they react or start spreading to other parts especially when it's on the leg. I've been having a growth on the sole and middle part of my leg for a very long time. It usually itches when it gets in to contact with water or when I put on closed shoes. The rate of its growth is very low. I once went to the hospital and they told me its a fungal infection but I still want to know more.

Dear Linet, it would appear that you already have the answer to the ‘growth’ on the sole and middle part of your leg. When it was diagnosed during your previous hospital visit, did they not prescribe an anti-fungal medication for you? If not, you can get an anti-fungal ointment/cream from the pharmacy. If the lesion does not clear up after a few days, please return to your local primary health clinic or hospital for follow-up evaluation so that the condition can be diagnosed and effective treatment provided.
