Does medications affect 4th generation hiv duo test

I have been on hydroxyurea for the past decades; I had an exposure and took a 4th generation duo test; can the hydroxyurea affect the test result

Dear Mike, thank you for this very important question. There is currently no evidence that the use of any form of medication which is non-HIV-related (including antibiotics) will affect the test results. It is important, however, that individuals who are on treatment for HIV should not use this test. (MCH).
