Dear Zonke, flat warts do sometimes appear on the face, neck, back, chest, forearms and legs. These warts can itch or even bleed. Where warts are located in areas that are rubbed against clothing or bumped frequently, they become irritated and the skin around them can become painful. Even without treatment, warts often disappear on their own, although it could take months or years and they often tend to come back. There are over-the-counter liquids and patches containing salicylic acid which may be helpful, however, I would suggest that you rather request your treating physician to refer you to a dermatologist (a doctor specialising in skin conditions). (MCH).
