Q.

Is my asthma coming back?

Greetings doctor. I haven"t got asthma since 5, and i am now 19. But it's been like this month, i started having mild breathing problems like i haven"t had before, especially at night and i couldn't figure out the reason behind it. It was like a tightness in airway, no cough, wheezing or phlegm. Sometimes when i fart or burping from bloating, it gets better and sometimes not. I went to doctor, told him everything and he checked, said my lungs and throat were clear. Except the nose, it was blocked due to swollen nose turbinate. He prescribed me with diprophylline 200mg. I was so confused with sleep apnea, sinusitis, stress and asthma at this moment, certainly covid-19 as well. If asthma really comes, coz my nose is blocked, i am just worried both my nose and mouth couldn't breathe, and i would suffocate and turn purple. It's of course the worst situation. I am so worried doctor. What should i do and should i get checked again? I didn't expect to get asthma again, plus i got no ventolin left coz it was long ago. Pls help and answer doctor!

It sounds very much like your asthma is back and that you probably have chronic hay fever as well.  You will need to see your medical practitioner to evaluate you and likely initiate treatment for both asthma and the chronic hay fever.  Sometimes acid coming up the food pipe (also called GORD) may be complicating the situation.
