Nothing seems to work, I have had all the tests known to man, steroids etc , alternative stuff same result. Up until the sudden symptoms I was very fit and sporty and have been all my life. No Allergies, clean clothes clean house 74 years of age and live in sunny FL ....help please. Patrick...next stop the Mayo??

It could be that you might have acid coming up your food pipe and trickling into your lungs.  Maybe you should try a course of strong antacid therapy?  Have you tried nasal spray and different types of antihistamines?  I presume you're not on medication like blood pressure ones that could also cause a cough?

More likely Cailin's chest cold worsened her asthma.

Touch and go on whether the cough medicine triggered Cailin's asthma attack. More likely Cailin's chest cold worsened her asthma. But she's okay now.

About 5 years ago at Trade Winds we had a very small woman named Cailin who worked fold/pack. She's my friend Joanie's 4'10" height. But Cailin has sever coughing bronchial asthma. About 4 months later she caught a very bad chest head cold. She took some Vicks Formula 44 to quiet the cough from her head chest cold but she developed a severe coughing asthma attack. Did the cough medicine Cailin took for her chest head cold trigger or worsen her asthma?

Likely because some cough medicines have alcohol in them.
