Q.

Meaning of 'Borderline' Hip MRI scan

I have been suffering from hip pain for a long while probably because of all the sport I play (5-6 times a week). Doctor suggested MRI scan. I rang up the surgery and have been told the scan is 'borderline' and need an appointment with a doctor to discuss. Appointment is not for a week. Any ideas of what 'borderline' could mean? Thanks

Apologies for the delay. Borderline may mean that you have early osteo arthritis in the hip but unlikely that you need a total hip replacement.

The most likely cause of your pain is fibrositis around the hip joint
