HI Dr, 52 year old female. I had a total hip replacement in Dec 2018. I recovered very well and was back at work in 4 weeks. I am having the other hip done in a few months. What I want to know is, sometimes the top of my leg feels very tight, even going all around to the buttock (on the operated leg) I am not in pain and have good mobility it just feels tight at times (not really stiff like before the op) Is there a reason for this?

It may be that some of the muscles were slightly shortened during the operation

This should improve with exercise, especially swimming.
