Chronic skin hives, blisters & rash

Please help ... Chronic skin hives, blisters & rash getting worse? I'm 42 and work as a pharmacy tech in NHS hospital. 6 months ago I developed a patch of itchy angry skin on lower leg which was very itchy. It got so bad I was tested for skin cancer which was negative. The top layer of skin was dead and after a couple of months of steroids and antibiotics it started to look better. Now a few months later it is still not healed and new symptoms have appeared ... my face suddenly swelled up with a red raised rash around mouth, nose and eyes. I thought it was new makeup but it wasn't. It got better then flared up several times. Now my whole face is covered in hive type things and a red rash which is worse around eyes, mouth and under nose. It has spread to my arms, neck and torso. They look like blister type hives. I just don't know what is causing this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have no pets and have used process of elimination with food and drink for months with no luck. The only other thing is that I bought a second hand car about 5 months ago. I've recently learned the was used by someone who had 2 quite old dogs who were always in the car. Even though the car has been cleaned could something off the dogs be blowing out of the air fan vents? I've never been allergic to dogs before though. I know this wasn't the cause of the infected leg itchy rash but could it be the cause of all of this?

Its quite difficult on a forum like this to make any recommendations but it does sound like you have developed chronic urticaria and possibly a low-grade skin infection. You should see a NHS Dermatologist for skin swabs to see if you have an infection, and possibly skin and patch testing for contact dermatitis and allergies.
