Q.

Is it ok to use hydrocrotizone cream on my eyelids three nights a week?

I've been suffering from dry, red itchy eyelid margins for nearly a year now and the only thing that has helped is hydrocortizone cream.

Hydrocortisone cream is safe to use for limited periods but it sounds like you have a condition called Blepharitis which can be caused by dandruff or a low grade skin infection on the eyelids. It would be best to try an anti-dandruff shampoo such as Selsun 2.5% applied directly to the lid or an antibacterial cream such as Fucidin. There is also a tiny mite that can also aggravate the condition. If the condition persists, then get a doctors opinion.
