teen' s concentration prob

my daughter is 17 yrs old and always had a problem in concentrating at school. since grade1 her teachers always said she has potential to do well but she doesnt concentrate or focus on the lessons. she daydreams or chat with her fellow learners.more often she just sits and day dream. she says she tries to pay attention but her mind drifts. even when she enjoys a lesson and understand the content when it was explained to her, she struggles to do the homework based on these lessons. i can see shes trying her best but her self esteem is rather low after all these yrs of putting in double time and still gettng very low grades. how and where do i take her to have her assessed for ADD? we live in the Cape town.tks

You can try Dr Adri Van Der Walt in Panorama. She specialises in children with concentration problems and she is excellent. My son has being going to her since grade 2 and he is now in grade 9. Her Telephone number is 021 930 0250
