Q.

my 6year old does not want to write

my 6 year old child is in his 1st grade. he is one of the active kids in his class. He has a good memory and he enjoys reading. The problem is that he doesn't want to put an effort in writing. he get tired quickly when he has to write both at home and at school. he still struggles to fasten his shoe laces no matter how hard we tried to teach him to. Most tasks that need concentration have become a nightmare to him. he also can't sty quite for a very long time and he cant sit at one place for a very long time. He sleeps longer hours. my question is could it be ADHD?

I would recommend a developmental assessment by an occupational therapist. If he has not mastered postural control, gross and fine motor movements, his behaviour may resemble "ADHD"
