Q.

Magnesium

Hi
I have just read an article that Magnesium is very good for ADHD. How do you know if your child needs Magnesium. Do you take a one off course of it or is it something you have to take all the time?

Hi Debbie,

Magnesium and Zinc are both regarded as being important in respect of ADHD, probably through their effect on the enzyme that acts on the Fatty Acids. These need to be supplied continuously (one off dosing will have no effect whatsoever) via the diet (green vegetables, nuts, whole grains and red meat) or via supplementation. This is certainly worth considering particularly if you have already tried Omega 3 and 6 supplementation.
