Dear Want to Know,
The symptoms of ADD and ADHD are quite general, and we all experience them at some point or another. The difference is these symptoms are present all the time, not only in time of stress, and cause the person distress or interfere in their daily functioning. ADD and ADHD share the difficulty with attention; ADHD has the added component of hyperactivity which is an inability to sit still, wait patiently in a queue and often involves interrupting others while that are speaking. To be diagnosed, please contact the Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Support Group of Southern Africa at www.adhasa.co.za. If you would prefer the name of a practitioner please let me know which area you are in and we can see how I can assist.
All the best,
