Concerta vs Ritalin

Hi, I''ve been on Concerta 54mg for the past 3 years. I''m 38, and can''t believe how this medication changed my life! At the moment work is hectic and it will continue to be(even worse) up to December. I need to take my Concerta on Saturdays and Sundays as well, because I work from home then. But, problem is, if I take it I can''t relax and take a powernap in the afternoon. It sounds crazy, but I like my afternoon naps and see it as a reward. My eyes are tired, but I''m wound up. Could my Psychiatrist not prescribe the shorter acting Ritalin for working over weekends? I have no choice but to work over weekends. But I would also like to relax a bit.

Dear Workaholic,

It seems you have the right attitude and are doing your best to balance work and down time - well done.

Please speak with your psychiatrist regarding the Ritalin SA over weekends as there may be a reason he prescribed Concerta over Ritalin in the first place.

Kind regards,

Workaholic. My daughter (9) ADD on 27mg Concerta. Kyli takes it early morning at 6:00 and by 17:00 when we pick her up at the after school group the concerta is worked out totally. Ever tried taking it very early to get some work done and still have a nap later in the afternoon?

I need the Concerta because I made so many mistakes and could not pay attention to detail. I was disorganised and my life was in shambles. On the Concerta I am in control, my work is always 100% perfect and I can concentrate for at least 8 hours a day. Concerta changed my life. I would recommend it for anyone. Except that it keeps me from my well deserved nap in the afternoon.

Workaholic, why did you get Concerta in the 1st place. I work from home and loads on works but just cant concentrate on what needs to be done and usually get very little done. Im not lazy but just lack the ''get up and go'' feeling.
