bedwetting and add

My 9 year old son constantly wets his bed. He has been battling this year at school so we have taken him to be assessed - we are still waiting for the report. He shows lots of signs of being ADD/ADHD - if he is diagnosed with this could this be causing his bedwetting - so active during day that he sleeps solid yet bladder still active??

Dear Mom,
Bedwetting is very common amongst children, and even some adults, with AD/HD. Your explanation of why he wets the bed is very accurate. You can try limiting the amount he drinks at night, particularly the last hour before bed. Another technique which is often helpful is to wake him up before you go to bed/later in the night and remind him to go to the toilet. It may be worthwhile to speak to the medical professional who assessed him about this as well, as s/he may have other techniques to try.
Kind regards,
