Adult ADD

I''m 48, have Bipolar Mood disorder (meds.per day...Welbutrin 150mg, Epitec 200mg x 2, Cymbalta 90mg). How do I now if I''m suffering of ADD? Cause I''m studying further &  really struggle to concentrate and focus on my work. If I''m busy with an assignment and i.e. go and fetch myself some water and see something else that I must do, I just going on with that task, fotally forgetting about my studies. Even in my normal day routine I will do several stuff without finishing most of them. If it is ADD, what can I use for concentration that''s not a " chemical"  product?

Dear Just Me,

ADHD and mood disorders do often co-exist. I suggest speaking with your psychiatrist about this if you wish to be formally diagnosed or rule out the possibility.

In terms of non-chemical products, the best supplement to take is Omegas 3-6-9 as these help with concentration. Products such as ADDvance and Biostrath could also be beneficial.

Apart from supplements, try to ensure you structure your day as much as possible by making use of daily planners and calendars; ensure you get enough sleep and perhaps follow a diet that is higher in protein than carbohydrates as this tends to help those with diagnosed ADHD.

Kind regards,
