Q.

Ratilin on Epileptic Child

My son is 9 years and epileptic. He is struggling at school, his hand writing is bad, he loses concentration quickly, and hardly finish his work in class. His teacher has expressed concern over this. I am thinking of putting him on Ritalin, please advise on the risks as he is also on Navalpro CR300.

Your son needs a comprehensive assessment to determine whether he has ADHD. If so, Ritalin can be used - with close supervision to ensure that the seizures remain well-controlled. Strattera could also be considered.
