Q.

60mg Adderall no longer works

Hi Dr. Schoeman, r I discovered I ADD no hyperactivity only attention issues. I was put on 5mg. of dexadrine and it was a miracle. All the years of spacing out self medicating with caffeine, tobacco, excessive exercise to clear brain fog (NO LONGER NEEDED) The year was 1989. fast forward to 2019 and over the years I have needed to increase doses because of drug tolerance. I am at 60mg of Adderall and it doesn't work so can the dose go higher or am stuck since my Dr. says 60mg is highest dose the FDA ALLOWS.

Not responding to 60mg anymore does not necessarily indicate "tollerance". It is important to look at other factors which may contribute to symptoms becoming more problematic, e.g. insufficient sleep, poor management of technology, not exercising enough, using other substances, comorbid anxiety or depression, etc.
