Q.

Cognitive bahaviour therapy for ADHD

Good day, my son has ADHD and uses Ritalin LA 20 mg, which works much better for me than Concerta. He now eats normally and is not so aggressive. But ever since we found out about the ADHD I tried to get so much info as I possibly can to try and help him without medication because he was just 4 years old. Now he is 9. Everywhere I read it says that medication should be combined with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, but I cannot find a place that could do this for me. I live in the Vaal. I also do not have medical aid. Kindly please advise?

Cognitive Behaviour Thearpy is definitiely indicated - when your son is a bit older. For now, social skills training by a play therapist as well as a focus on practical skills such as organization and time management, are important.
