You know you have to finish the task at hand, but you just can’t get down to doing it. Here's how to improve your concentration.
Do one thing at a time – prioritise and set a specific time period in which to complete the task; write down tasks and tick off those you complete; break big tasks down into smaller, manageable ones; stick to a routine – set times for specific tasks; get rid of anything that might distract you; exercise regularly; watch what you eat; keep sugar and caffeine consumption to a minimum; get enough sleep – overtiredness shuts down the brain; and seek medical help if your lack of concentration persists – a medical condition could be causing it.
