Many teens experiment with alcohol at some stage or another. While this may be just a passing phase, it could become a problem for some. What are the warning signs of an alcohol problem?
Take action:
Look out for the following: increased defiance; failing grades; a sudden lapse in school attendance; lying about where they've been or who they've been with; giving up usual activities, such as sports and homework; depressed attitude or mood swings; weight loss; change in sleep habits or energy levels; mental confusion; increased physical complaints, such as upset stomach and headaches; and getting into trouble with the law.
