Are you at the end of your tether? Fortunately, there are ways to give yourself a little "time out" in the midst of all the chaos.
Take action:
Sit alone in a space and at a time when you are least likely to be interrupted; lie down or sit comfortably; close your eyes and feel yourself breathing, inhaling and exhaling smoothly and rhythmically; imagine a scene that pleases you – a tranquil afternoon on an empty beach, for example; as you imagine the scene, place yourself in it – see and feel yourself lying on the warm sand, hear the ocean and feel the soft breeze touching your face and hair; spend some time in this space, while you continue to focus on your breathing; count to five and slowly open your eyes; remain sitting quietly for a couple of minutes before you continue with your activities.
