Go the generic meds route

Your medical bills are sky-high, your medical aid is exhausted and you’re struggling to make ends meet. Is it time to switch over to generic drugs?

It could certainly be worth your while – generic drugs may be up to 30% cheaper than the brand-name. Remember that it’s your choice and right to opt for a generic drug, unless your doctor specifically specifies that no substitution should be given. And even then you can challenge his/her decision. But always check with your doctor or pharmacist first before switching to a generic. Some medicines simply aren’t substitutable.
