Fast food restaurants have popped up everywhere. They are convenient, and after a long day at work it's often easier to grab that burger and chips than to stand in front of the stove and cook a nutritious meal.
While we all know junk food is not good for us, South Africans continue to buy copious amounts of it. According to the Mail&Guardian the percentage of adults who buy fast food at least once a month increased from 66% in 2009 to more than 80% in 2015.
