The general consensus among climate change experts is: Yes, the heat is on: the total temperature of the earth has risen, and is continuing to do so. Even an increase of a few degrees could have serious repercussions for human and planetary health.

Climate change is not simply about heat though; the effects from overall global warming are complex and multiple and may inlcude drought, flooding, more severe storms and sea level rise. Weather is set to become more unpredictable and in some places winters may even be colder.
