The playground workout

No money for a gym and no room at home to exercise? All you need is a little imagination and possibly a nearby jungle gym...

Getting a good workout doesn't necessarily mean you need to spend lots of money on a personal trainer or a gym contract. It doesn't even mean you need to rearrange your living room every day to get some exercise. If you have a local kids playground nearby you have more than enough equipment there to get a great workout - nevermind the strange looks you might get. Perhaps just make sure that adults are permitted to use the equipment before you get started.

Some ideas for some other exercises to do at your local playground could include squats, walking lunges, pelvic bridging, step-ups (or 'box jumps' if there is somewhere to jump on the jungle gym) and even some calf raises.

Work the abdominals with some planks, leg raises, and bicycle crunches to round off your workout.
