Our expert says:
Puppies often get puppy mange under their jaws and on their faces, which can be easily sorted out if you go to your vet. Otherwise this could just be normal moulting due to the change from puppy coat to adult coat and the change of season. Stress can also cause a dog to lose more hair than normal so make sure you are doing all you need to do for her - daily walks on a lead outside the property, socialising with other dogs, toys to play with, company most of the day, a view out of your home, etc. You need to brush your dog at least twice a week with a rubber or soft brush to get rid of all the loose hairs and to condition the coat. Regular brushing will also help with flaky skin and is much better than bathing, which can dry out the skin. You should not bath your dog more than once a month. You will have to continue washing or shaking out the bedding regularly too.
