worsening eye sight

I am a very healthy 60 year old male, i keep loosing my glasses and have problems reading. Can the "long arm " problem be solved with

1. Contact lenses ?
2. Operation ?

Dear Albie
You won’t really be able to wear contact lenses for reading, as then you won’t be able to see far.
They can do lasik operation where they make one eye far sighted and the other near sighted but this sounds very uncomfortable to me!
Do what I do – I have cheap reading glasses in the TV room, at my desk, at my office, next to my bed….
Or wear it with a chain..but that makes one look older!
