There isn't a clear correlation between your weight gain and your baby's 2kg at 36 weeks is a bit on the small side, but is not too bad. At this stage of the pregnancy there isn't a lot you can do. As long as you are seeing a doctor regularly and the baby is being monitored, it should be fine.

Best wishes

I do'nt think you must stres over that, i fall preg in Oct last year, went to gynea in Nov from that time up untill now i only gain 4kg and on the 16 April i was 32 weeks and my boy was already 2470 kg so do'nt worry that weight of your baby is normal.

Good luck

Stop worrying about your weight gain. If you are eating healthily then your baby will take from your body what he/she needs. It might be that you and your hubby we "small" babies, the size of you baby has a lot to do with your genetic make-up and not to do with what you eat. Believe me, it is a good thing that you only picked up 8kg so far, it makes you more energetic and you will loose the weight very easily afterwards. If you look at the chart below, then in month 8 ( week 33-36 ), then your baby's weight is perfectly normal. Your baby will most likely be round the 3.0-3.2kg mark which is very good! So stop worrying and enjoy!
