Please give me some information. Why will a six month old premature baby survive than a baby say seven or eight months, who still spent a longer time in the womb of its mother

Dear Kim
The development has different critical stages. A baby between 32 and 34 weeks are at risk because of a lot of brain growth that take place in the middle of the brain and a brainbleed can easily happen that will influence survival. There is a lot of factors that need to be considered. Things to keep in mind is why the baby was early. If mom had high blood pressure the stress prepared the baby, but is she just suddenly had ruptured membranes (her waters broke) then the baby was not prepared for the transition.
