Depends what type of cycst. Some cysts are eggs not released from the follicle. Those normally dissapear after a couple of weeks by itself. Normally symptom free.

An endometrioma is caused by endometrioses on the ovary (sometimes called a chocolate cyst). Symptomps of those are abdominal pain during sex, physical activity, when passing stool or during menstruation. Also frequent sciatic nerve pains (lower back and down the leg). Can be detected via laparoscopy or CA 125 blood test. Not very noticeable on sonar.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) results in various cysts forming on the ovaries. Symptomps are lack of ovulation and hence irregular or absent periods. Indicators can be abnormal insulin levels, weight problems, and facial hair growth. Diagnosis by sonar (unsure), blood tests or visual diagnosis by laparoscopy.
