Question

What is Melouska?

My daughter of 3 has a horrible skin desease and after many trials at the GP the Dermatologist diagnosed it as "Melouska" (Spelling??)

I would like to find more about this desease, since the treatment she gave her - using some sort of medicine used on animals - burned each sore into a big blister, but now it has spread all over her legs and arms. It is absolute horrible and I cannot believe that there is no other treatment available? I've taken her for a second opionion to another dermatologist, that basically couldn't give me any more information, bar that it is a virus infection and that there is nothing he can do to kill the virus. This sounds a bit dodgy??

I would like to find out as much as possible of this desease - can you maybe help or refer me to someone that can?

Regards
Charmaine

Dear Charmain
It is called molluscum contagiosum and is quite common in kids. Caused by a virus and can spread.
See http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/diseases/facts/molluscum.htm and

Try giving her an immune booster like viral choice c syrup?
