Our expert says:
Congratulations on the birth of your baby. While breast-feeding it is not a good idea to use any diet that is too drastic and to do too much strenuous exercise. You don't want to dry up your milk supply. You can use an energy-reduced, low-fat, high-fibre diet (click on 'Diet' at the top of this page, 'Weight loss', ‘The right approach' and then on 'Slimming Diet' for a copy of such a diet), but add 2 cups of fat-free milk or yoghurt to the permitted foods. Take baby for walks in the fresh air every day so that you get some exercise.
Enjoy your baby
